"Excuse me, can you please tell me how you do your hair....?"
Dana has gotten this question so many times, she decided to share it online
(rather than writing it out for each curly-friend she'd meet in the street which she used to do.)
Reminder: every curly head is different. The products and methods she uses on her fine, thin,
high-porosity, non-color-treated 3bc curls might not work for you, but she hopes it does!
Dana uses a volumizing shampoo and condidtioner. Lately she's been liking the L'Oreal Elvive Volumizing line.
She scrunches wet curls with a microfiber hairtowel before adding any product.

On towel-damp hair, Dana rakes through the following products:
1. CURLSMITH Feather Light Protein Styling Cream
and then a mix of
2. AG Re:Coil Curl Activator + Cake Beauty The Curl Friend
defining curl cream

After products, Dana shakes out/scrunches her hair to encourage curls, and makes sure her part is correct.
Then she blow-dries with a ceramic hairdryer using the diffuser attachement, on Low with Hot temp. She dries her front bangs first, before moving to the length, then does the other side. She dries upside down towards the end, making sure the roots are mostly dry for maximum volume.
She sometimes adds tiny clips to the roots so the hair finishes drying with extra lift, like "scaffolding".
Takes maybe 10 minutes total, because Dana does not have a lot of hair.
note: yes, she does this even in summer--lots of curly-hair products are heat activated for best result!

For second-day refresh, Dana might lightly mist the curls that have frayed-out with a fine-mist spray bottle of water, then put some product on her palms and "clap" a little of either of these two products onto the frizzy tendrils.
1. Cake Beauty 3-in-1 Leave-In Conditioner
2. L'Oreal Hyaluron + Plump Moisture Replumping Hair Serum
She might use the blowdryer again to encourage the curls to re-gather.
She might use a little hair putty at the roots for lift.
3. Fix Your Lid Styling Fiber
Or, she might give up and put it in a clip!
